OCEAN CITY-- A fast moving fire destroyed what some officials are calling one of the most beautiful homes on the island.
It was a multi–million dollar Ocean City home and neighbors say most of it was restored this winter in time for another summer season, but just after 3:30 Sunday afternoon the house went up in flames.

raging.
"Just extremely fast within five to ten minutes it was engulfed," witness Doug Disandro said.
Once fire fighters showed up they said flames were at least 30 feet in the air. Their primary concern was not the main residence, but the houses next door, because the winds were so out of control."
"The exposures would be the neighboring properties and we protected those initially we had some damage to the one, but we were able to get some water on that," said Ocean City fire Chief Mark McCulley.
The fire was so hot that it caused the flag pole in the front yard to collapse toward the home.
One fire fighter was transported to hospital with minor heat related injuries, but was released later Sunday night.
This was one of the older homes in Ocean City and sources say that the owners were out of town. They mainly used the house as a summer home.
Officials say had this happened just a few weeks from now it could have been a very different outcome.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and officials say crews will remain there throughout the night Sunday.
