A two-vehicle crash killed a 76-year-old woman and critically injured two men Saturday afternoon, Hammonton police said in a release.

Damion Moore, 34, of Philadelphia, was driving west on the White Horse Pike when he attempted to make a left turn onto Egg Harbor Road, police said. At 1:11 p.m. he instead collided head-on with Joackim Mechikas, 83, of Warminster, Pa., who was driving east on the White Horse Pike.

Mechikas and Moore were extracted from their vehicles and flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, and were in critical condition, police said.

Moore’s passenger, Elizabeth A. Stults, of Riverside, was transported to AtlantiCare’s Mainland Campus, where she was pronounced dead.

The Hammonton Police, Hammonton Volunteer Fire Department, and AtlantiCare EMS responded to the scene.

Hammonton Patrolman Jason Rigby is investigating further.
