second floor of the house, where it received heavy smoke damage.

It is believed the house is a summer home and fortunately no one was inside when the fire broke out.

Fire crews say other areas of the house also sustained some damage.

"We have smoke damage in some, we have water damage on the ground floor, the upstairs apartment where the fire was, i would say had significant heavy damage," said Ocean City Fire Chief Joe Foglio.

Firefighters had the flames under control in less than two hours after the fire broke out.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
