GALLOWAY -- Firefighters from several Galloway stations made quick work late Friday afternoon of a house fire in the 400-block of Fir Avenue in the Pomona section of the Township.

the single-story ranch-style house when they arrived shortly after 4:00 pm.

They were able to bring the blaze under control in a matter of minutes. The fire caused heavy damage to one bedroom and part of the home's rear wall.

There was nobody home at the time of the fire. An investigation into its cause is underway.
