VINELAND - A mobile home trailer was destroyed in a fire late Sunday afternoon, the Vineland Fire Department said.

The emergency call came at about 4:40 p.m. at a trailer on the 1600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in the Berrymans Branch Mobile Home Park, Lt. Paul Lovecchio said. When the firefighters arrived, the living room and kitchen were engulfed in flames, and fire was shooting out all the windows, Lovecchio said.

The fire took about 20 minutes to control. The person or people who lived in the trailer had evacuated and were not around when the firefighters came to the scene, Lovecchio said. No one was hurt, and the American Red Cross came to provide assistance, Lovecchio said.

What started the fire is unclear. The case is under investigation.
