The vehicle ran through Engine 367’s bay door, striking both Engines 367 and 267. Engine 367 had damage to the air horns; Engine 267 had damage to the Federal Q siren and front bumper.
Tyro was assisted by Davidson County EMS Medic 5, 1 and Davidson County Rescue.
The 40-year-old driver died. He reportedly hit a utility pole before crashing into the station. Troopers think the driver was suffering from a medical condition before the collision.

Firenews.net is reporting that Tyro Firefighters were dispatched to their own station Sunday evening after a motorist lost control and crashed into Station 67. The Tyro Rural Fire Station is located at 4645 South North Carolina Highway 150.
