NORTHFIELD - A house fire caused minor damage Monday afternoon, but a stretch of Cedar Bridge Road was closed for nearly an hour while the Fire Department cleared the scene.
A family in the 3100 block of Cedar Bridge Road was stripping wallpaper when the liquid they used dripped down the wall and hit an electrical outlet at about 4:30 p.m., fire Chief Henry Martinelli said. The small resulting fire was out by time firefighters arrived.
Cedar Bridge Road was blocked to traffic at Oak Avenue while firefighters cleared the home of smoke.
