Two people injured in Mullica Township crash

Two people were injured, one of them seriously, when two vehicles collided Tuesday evening at the intersection of Route 30 and Elwood Road, police said. The driver of one vehicle, a 70-year-old man from Egg Harbor Township, was taken to William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton as a precautionary measure, investigating Lt. Paul Register said.

His passenger, a woman from Egg Harbor Township, was air-lifted to the Regional Trauma Unit at AltantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlatnic City, but her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. An 18-year-old man from Mullica Township was issued a summons for failure to yield at an intersection Register said The names of the people involved were not release.

The cause of the accident, which happened at 4:59 p.m., is under investigation, Register said
