Elwood Volunteer Fire Company

Called for an activated alarm. 1620 arrived and confirmed and advised to hold the assignment to 1621 and car 1620 and recalled all other companies.

Helicopter was requested for a patient at a motor vehicle accident. Landing zone was going to be behind the Elwood School. Helicopter would not fly due to weather. Assignment was canceled.

Called for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment, vehicle on it’s side. With the assistance of Hammonton FD, removed 4 passengers from the vehicle and transferred to EMS units. Sweetwater provided traffic control at Wharton Park Blvd and Route 30. A helicopter was requested for one of the patients but helicopter would not fly due to weather.

Called for an activated commercial fire alarm. Recalled by Sweetwater command.

Received a call for an activated smoke/fire alarm. Arrived on scene and found a faulty head. Reset the alarm and cleared the scene

Investigated a reported gas odor – unfounded

Received a call for an infants leg stuck in a crib. Arriving units were able to free the child and clear the scene.

Cleaned detector and reset alarm.
