Police and fire crews responded to a gas leak in Pleasantville Wednesday.
The leak was reported at about 9:30 a.m., at the corner of Washington Avenue and Doughty Road.

torn down. That building finally collapsed Wednesday, with recent construction and wind gusts bringing the home to its end.The house, now a wedge of wooden siding and window frames.
Somehow, a gas line was struck. So workers dug into the ground Wednesday with shovels and jackhammers, trying to find the gas line, trying to contain the leak.
Until the leak is contained, avoid driving near Washington Avenue, between New Road and Doughty Road.
An hour after the gas leak was reported, the intersection remained filled with fire trucks and police cars and a small bulldozer. Cones and police tape decorated the scene. A police officer directed traffic at nearby Devins Lane.
