PORT REPUBLIC — A woman was ejected Wednesday from her car, which then overturned in the Garden State Parkway median, police said.

Norcia's vehicle rotated counterclockwise, hit a small tree and continued deeper into the wooded median, before hitting another tree, ejecting her, and then overturning, coming to a rest on its roof. Police said she was the only person in the car.
Norcia, of Point Pleasant, was alert and conscious when she was treated by Monoc paramedics before being airlifted by Medevac 5 helicopter. Police did not have any information about her injuries, or where she was taken.
The left lane was closed for two hours, police said, while the accident was investigated.
